Knox City Police Officers arrested Carl Daughtery and Stephanie Daughtery, of Knox, on methamphetamine charges on Friday, November 26th, after reportedly finding items in that are used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Haven Ewing was arrested on Monday, November 22nd on seven counts of Burglary, a Class B Felony. Ewing is said to have been involved in burglaries in the Koontz Lake area in March and allegedly committed the acts with Zachary and Ian Bastin.
The Chesapeake and Indiana Railroad and the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Department are seeking information leading to the arrest and conviction of two thieves that stole locomotive horns from railroad locomotives at the LaCrosse Ballpark.

The staff at the LaPorte County jail are in the process of treating an infestation of scabies within the jail. All visitation and programs for inmates have been canceled at this time. Normal jail operations involving the public will resume on December 13th.
Twelve firefighters from the Washington Township Fire Department participated in the 2010 State Firefighter I/II course. Firefighters met two days a week for lectures and hands-on activities.
Gerald Broude
A jury of seven men and five women deliberated for 30 minutes, Wednesday, finding Gerald Broude guilty on four counts of child molestation after his trial in Starke Circuit Court. The sentencing hearing will be on Tuesday, December 28th at 10:00 a.m. CT in Starke Circuit Court.
Robert Hinojosa, Shawn Mattraw and Kimberly Kennedy
Kimberly Kennedy, Robert Shawn Mattraw and Robert Hinojosa of Starke County Community Corrections were honored at the recent Indiana Association of Community Corrections Annual Conference for Outstanding Achievement in Community Corrections for 2010.
